🔌 The new Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk, supported the completion of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant, emphasizing the key role of nuclear generation in ensuring Ukraine’s energy security.

🏗️ According to the plan, Energoatom intends to build two VVER-1000 units and two more based on American AP1000 technology. The total capacity of the plant may exceed 6,000 MW.
🇧🇬 However, Bulgaria has refused to sell Ukraine two power units manufactured in russia. Hrynchuk stated she would discuss the situation with the Bulgarian minister.
🧰 The minister emphasized that Soviet-made units are not considered “russian technology” and she sees no problem in using them.
🤝 At the same time, active cooperation continues with the American company Westinghouse.
🌬️ Hrynchuk stressed that nuclear generation provides up to 60% of the country’s energy balance and is critically important for getting through the winter.
