In Russia, a new fuel crisis is intensifying — the shortage of AI-95 gasoline is already going beyond exchange reports and is starting to affect the domestic market. This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

According to industry analysts, unsatisfied demand for AI-95 gasoline in the Russian Federation has already exceeded 26,000 tons.

Among the reasons are emergency and unscheduled repairs at oil refineries, reduced oil refining volumes, and seasonal growth in demand.

Due to the fuel shortage, Russian oil companies are being forced to shift production toward the cheaper AI-92 gasoline, which is considered a “socially significant” fuel type in Russia.

Despite statements by the Russian Ministry of Energy about a stable situation, exchange prices continue to rise. Currently, AI-95 costs nearly 72,000 rubles per ton, while in the over-the-counter market prices are about 10% higher.

Market participants acknowledge the fuel deficit and limited supply.

At the same time, large oil refineries are being shut down for maintenance for at least a month, which complicates the formation of reserves ahead of the summer season.

Against this backdrop, the risk of a large-scale gasoline shortage in summer is increasing.

There is also growing discussion in Russia about converting vehicles to gas due to rising prices and fuel shortages.

In just one year in Tatarstan, fuel prices have risen significantly: AI-92 — by 16.8%, AI-95 — by 15%.
