French President Emmanuel Macron announced on April 8 that more than 15 countries are ready to help restore safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz following a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

According to Macron, these countries are coordinating under France’s leadership, which will head this defense mission in cooperation with Iran to facilitate the restoration of navigation in the strait.
The President also welcomed the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran but emphasized that the situation in Lebanon remains critical.
