Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico once again criticized the European Union’s position on the war in Ukraine, emphasizing that his government does not aim for Russia’s defeat. He made these remarks during a special edition of the program “In 5 Minutes 12,” dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Carpathian-Dukla Operation.

“Our goal is the fastest possible end to the war so that Slavs stop killing each other,” Fico stated. He added that the EU is spending excessively on supporting the conflict instead of focusing on peace.
The Slovak prime minister also spoke against the creation of a “drone wall,” discussed at the EU summit in Copenhagen: “What can a prime minister who has never fired a gun say about drone defense?”
Fico emphasized that Slovakia will not participate in “any military adventures” due to the lack of grounds for involving the country in the conflict. He noted that negotiations between the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine are scheduled to take place in Mykhailivtsi on October 17.
