According to Fico, the EU has never before experienced a crisis of this magnitude, and only those who are strong enough will survive it. At the same time, in his view, the Union is demonstrating complete helplessness in finding a way out of the situation.
“The only thing the European Union does perfectly is hate Russians. This is a quality that is perfected. But unfortunately, the EU has not been able to do anything,” the Slovak prime minister said.
Fico emphasized that the EU’s competitiveness is declining, member states are unable to agree among themselves and develop a common defense policy, and most are merely looking to the United States.
He also added that with the arrival of U.S. President Donald Trump, EU representatives have become even more helpless than before.
Despite the harsh criticism, Robert Fico assured that he has no intention of withdrawing Slovakia from the European Union and stated that “a strong Slovakia will fight for the EU.”
