Members of U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s team tried to reach Valerii Zaluzhnyi after the public dispute between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House. This was reported by The Guardian, citing sources.

It is noted that Vance played a key role in provoking the confrontation between the presidents. After the incident, he and his circle began looking for potential alternatives to the “problematic” Zelenskyy and attempted to arrange a call with Zaluzhnyi, but unsuccessfully.
According to the publication, Zaluzhnyi, after consultations with Zelenskyy’s team, refused to answer the call. The Guardian emphasizes that this indicates the general’s political balancing act following his dismissal from the position of Commander-in-Chief.
Journalists add that despite his loyalty to the government, many see Zaluzhnyi as the “natural next president of Ukraine” and urge him to start a political career.
