📈 russia’s aggression against Ukraine has significantly increased the risks of human trafficking and the number of related crimes. This is stated in the third report by the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA), published on June 12.

📊 The document notes that despite a decrease in cases in 2021–2022, 118 victims were officially recorded in 2023, and 182 in 2024. The rise is explained by the worsening socio-economic situation caused by russia’s war against Ukraine.

improve assistance to victims;
strengthen their protection;
create a state compensation system;
adopt a law on non-punishment of trafficking victims;
support reintegration and provide medical care.
