China continues to support political dialogue and any initiatives aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine. This was stated during a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.

She emphasized that Beijing views negotiations as the only realistic way to resolve the Russia-Ukraine war and actively engages with Ukraine, Russia, and other participants in international processes to help bring the hostilities to a swift end.
Mao Ning highlighted that China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, “plays a constructive role” in seeking a political solution. At the same time, Beijing traditionally avoids clear statements regarding who is the aggressor and who is the victim in the conflict.
