Germany has been found unprepared for a possible military conflict — this is indicated by a pessimistic Bundeswehr report cited by Bild. The document, prepared by more than 200 experts, including military officers and medical professionals, revealed numerous “weak points” in the national security system, particularly in the healthcare sector.

According to the report, in the event of large-scale combat, Germany could face up to 1,000 wounded soldiers per day, not counting civilian casualties. Experts warn of excessive strain on medical personnel, a rise in infectious diseases, and shortages of medicines, blood, and dressing materials.
The report also warns that an enemy could deliberately target hospitals and medical workers, making emergency response efforts significantly more difficult.
Among the key problems identified are a lack of coordination between institutions, vulnerable logistics chains, poor communication, and no clear data on medical professionals ready to serve in reserve.
Earlier, Germany’s defense minister urged the country to “be ready for war,” emphasizing the need for reforms in the security and defense sectors.
