The boycott includes Canada, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha called this decision a “war propaganda show for Moscow and Minsk.”
This year, Russian athletes will compete under their own flag and anthem for the first time since 2014. Ukraine will be represented by 35 participants, and Ukrainian officials will not take part in official events, including the opening ceremony.
