On 25 November, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law No. 4656-IX, which regulates the reburial of fallen servicemembers, including those whose bodies are discovered in territories liberated from Russian occupation.

The law establishes a clear legal mechanism for reburial after the identification of remains and stipulates that expenses are to be covered once by state funds allocated for burial.
The implementation of this law will help protect the interests of service members and their families, ensure the commemoration of the fallen, and honor their sacrifice in the fight for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
It is noted that the law will not affect the market, citizens’ or businesses’ rights and interests, public health, the environment, natural resources, or pollution levels.
