📊 The initiative to impose sanctions against Poroshenko was put forward by the Cabinet of Ministers, based on information from the new head of the State Financial Monitoring Service, Filip Pronin. However, sources indicate that the prime minister effectively refused to sign the submission.
⚠️ Sources report that the decision on sanctions against Poroshenko was initially planned for early January, but due to the SBU’s refusal, it was postponed. However, according to government insiders, this situation has caused dissatisfaction within President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office.
💬 According to a source, arguments prepared for the president—such as the questionable legality of the decision, internal societal divisions, a parliamentary crisis, and the reaction of international partners—led to the delay in making a final ruling.
🚨 Despite negative attitudes toward Poroshenko, the SBU understands that imposing such sanctions amid external challenges could further deepen societal divisions.
🎯 Notably, on the same day the sanctions decision was due, the SBU announced the exposure of Dmytro Kozyura, head of the SBU’s Anti-Terrorist Headquarters, who was found to be a relative of a high-ranking FSB official in Russia.
