🛡️ NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAP Head Oleksandr Klymenko warned about a possible attempt to change the leadership of Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies. They made this statement on August 8 during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine in Kyiv.

Kryvonos said that pressure on NABU and SAP continues constantly — both covertly and openly — through legislative initiatives, hints, or even threats.
“According to our information, the next wave may be a direct attack on the heads of NABU and SAP. There are attempts to gather a critical mass of complaints to use them as a pretext for changing the leadership,” Kryvonos noted.
The NABU director also reported that familiar Telegram channels, previously engaged in discrediting anti-corruption agencies, have now intensified personal attacks.
Oleksandr Klymenko confirmed this and said that concrete steps are already being observed that may indicate attempts to replace the current leadership with more loyal figures to certain political groups.
“This is an attempt to gain control over key anti-corruption institutions. We see the first signs of such a scenario,” Klymenko stated.
Kryvonos also emphasized that the organizers of these attacks remain the same, and the campaign is accompanied by activity from the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission, which is reviewing the work of the anti-corruption bodies.
“We know who is behind this, and now they know that we know,” the NABU director concluded.
