🕊️ On March 20, at the age of 92, the first Prime Minister of Ukraine, Vitold Fokin, passed away. His granddaughter, Maria Fokina, shared the news.

🇺🇦 Vitold Fokin served as the Prime Minister of Ukraine from November 24, 1991, to October 1, 1992. He also held the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Ukraine from October 23, 1990.
📝 On December 8, 1991, together with President Leonid Kravchuk, he signed the Belavezha Accords, which led to the dissolution of the USSR. He was the last living signatory of these agreements.
📚 After his political career, from 1993, Fokin worked as a research fellow at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations and served as president of the International Fund for Humanitarian and Economic Relations between Ukraine and Russia.
🇷🇺 Vitold Fokin made several pro-Russian statements, notably in 2020 when President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed him to the Trilateral Contact Group. He stated that he did not see any evidence of a war between Ukraine and Russia.
