📝 On April 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft law that changes the rules for granting deferrals from mobilization for educators and students. The document will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, and if approved, some students will lose their right to deferment.

🎓 Changes for students: – Men over 25 years old who are pursuing the same or a lower level of education for the second time will not receive a deferment. – Studying abroad after February 24, 2022, also does not grant a deferment. – Deferments will be retained for students who: – enrolled in an educational institution before the age of 25; – are pursuing a new level of education for the first time; – study full-time or in a dual mode.
👩🏫 Changes for educators: – Teachers with a scientific degree, even without the status of a scientific-pedagogical worker, will be able to receive a deferment. – Deferments will also be granted to extracurricular educators who lead clubs (ecology, nature studies, technical, military-patriotic), provided they worked before January 1, 2025, at least 0.75 of a full-time position.
⚖️ The changes were made to avoid legal challenges, as courts have already started recognizing the right to deferment for those pursuing education a second time, according to MP Oleksii Honcharenko.
