On January 12, Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak stated that political strategists and YouTube channel hosts of “Iceland”, Volodymyr Petrov and Serhii Ivanov, who often criticize opponents of Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak, themselves have exemptions from mobilization.

According to Zhelezniak, the exemptions were granted after a high-profile attack on the NABU and SAP, which Petrov and Ivanov actively justified during their broadcasts.
Volodymyr Petrov has been working since July 31 at the state institution “National Military Memorial Cemetery”, responsible for information policy. Serhii Ivanov, according to the MP, has been employed since July by a contractor of Energoatom through the private company Startek Industries, which closely cooperates with the public sector and regularly wins tenders worth tens of millions of hryvnias.
Zhelezniak noted that Ivanov’s exact position in the company is not public, but this does not prevent him from regularly appearing on broadcasts from a studio in Kyiv. He also added that Ivanov, together with Petrov and Roman Zolkin, publicly defended actions in the energy sector and denied the authenticity of the so-called “Mindich tapes,” calling them fabricated.
