⚡ Poroshenko in the Verkhovna Rada: it feels like the government and the country are living in different realities

During his speech from the parliamentary podium, Petro Poroshenko urged deputies to urgently amend the 2026 State Budget, directing all non-targeted expenditures to fund the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also called for support of the “European Solidarity” demand for the resignation of the government, whose members have become figures in the corruption “Mindichgate” scandal.

“I get the impression that the authorities, including the Verkhovna Rada, and the country are living in completely different realities. In the authorities’ reality, there is no darkness, no bombed Kharkiv, no missile-struck Odesa, no eighteen hours of blackout in Kyiv, no missiles in Ternopil. Instead, there is the ‘Unified Marathon,’ ‘strategic communications,’ and lies on Telegram channels,” Poroshenko noted.

“The army that is living and fighting now does so without increased monetary support, but with a budget that, unfortunately, part of this Verkhovna Rada voted for and was signed. Today, we registered amendments to this budget. All this unnecessary spending—from deputies’ salaries to a 100-billion-hryvnia cashback—will be redirected to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I strongly urge all deputies to sign and immediately consider this bill,” Poroshenko appealed.

“It is immoral to demand sanctions against Russia from our partners while refusing in the hall to vote to ban the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline. It is immoral to demand democracy and not prohibit extrajudicial searches of NABU detectives, opposition leaders, and civil activists. It is immoral to fight Russia and not ban Russian Telegram channels. It is immoral to claim you are fighting corruption and not dismiss the Mindichgate figures from the current government and authorities,” the party leader stated.
