According to him, amid the full-scale Russian invasion, it is critically important to prevent internal destabilization and ensure genuine unity within the country.
Poroshenko emphasized that society is disillusioned and international partners are shocked. He cited examples of embezzlement in the energy sector worth tens of millions of dollars and stressed that these violations are occurring while Russia actively advances in the east and south of the country.
In Poroshenko’s view, the current government’s response to the trust crisis is insufficient. Instead of holding the guilty accountable, there is an attempt to protect those involved, discredit NABU and activists, and increase media censorship.
The fifth president called for concrete steps. First, to stop the decline in trust, the authorities must guarantee the independence of NABU and SAP.
“One of the key steps to restoring trust is guarantees that the authorities will not attack NABU and SAP. Now it is clear to everyone why the Office attacked them in the summer. They knew about the recordings, remembered what had been said, and wanted to suppress the case at its very beginning. Now NABU must see these cases through to the end, wherever the corruption trail leads. The SBI must receive a clear signal not to interfere with NABU’s work and to stop the pressure, and this signal must come from the president,” Poroshenko stated.
The leader of European Solidarity also demands a transparent investigation of corruption cases. He emphasized that the resignation of only two ministers does not solve the problem, as at least five government officials appear in the public recordings.
“The entire corrupt collective Cabinet must finally resign in full. This is not about individuals, but about the system of governance. Not just about replacing the government, but about restoring its political agency… A new coalition, uniting all patriotic political forces, must form a national salvation government composed of specialists with impeccable reputations,” he explained.
The fifth President of Ukraine also insists on a reboot of the SBI through a transparent competition involving international experts.
Poroshenko also called for abandoning the 2026 budget in its current form, as he believes it promotes corruption and does not ensure funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The European Solidarity leader emphasized that the team’s anti-crisis plan is aimed at restoring trust, ensuring justice and accountability, which are necessary conditions for stability on the front lines and in diplomacy, and therefore for Ukraine’s survival.
