The issue of creating a special fund for the military levy has once again become a subject of political disputes in the Verkhovna Rada. This was stated by People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Nina Yuzhanina on the “Pryamyi” TV channel.

According to her, the parliamentary mono-majority does not consider draft laws submitted by opposition factions regarding the targeted allocation of the military levy for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Yuzhanina reminded that her political force has been insisting since the beginning of the full-scale invasion that funds from the military levy should go to a special fund and be used exclusively to finance the army.
She also noted that similar initiatives have been submitted by other factions, including “Holos”, but, according to her, they are not being considered comprehensively.
The MP criticized the format of the budget committee meeting, stating that it took place without proper discussion of all alternative draft laws.
At the same time, she acknowledged that the very fact of advancing the issue of creating a special fund is the result of a long political discussion, but emphasized risks regarding the actual use of funds and the level of military financing.
Separately, representatives of “European Solidarity” also insist on the targeted use of funds from military bonds and the partial return of military personal income tax to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The political force states that it will continue to insist on changing the distribution of budget funds in favor of the army and strengthening control over their use.
