According to the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 480 dated April 29, 2025, electricity tariffs cannot be changed until October 31, 2025. At the same time, owners of multi-zone meters may pay less for electricity.
Key points:
- Electricity tariffs will not change until the end of October; price revision is expected only after October 2025;
- On average, a family of three consumes about 65 kWh per month according to consumption standards, and will have to pay 712.8 UAH for this;
- Those who have installed multi-zone meters may pay less;
- Even after October 2025, the electricity price may not change.
How to pay less for electricity?
Owners of two-zone meters can pay less. From 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, the electricity rate is half the price: 2.16 UAH/kWh instead of 4.32 UAH. If 30% of electricity is used during the night with a two-zone meter, the monthly payment for electricity can be 605.88 UAH.
How to install a two-zone meter:
- Submit an application to change the tariff to your electricity supplier. You will need: passport, tax ID number, and a contract with the supplier.
- Pay for the installation service and receive a list of certified meters.
- Purchase a meter from the supplier or independently. If you buy it yourself, it must be programmed by the distribution system operator.
- Coordinate the installation with your electricity supplier. Call a technician who will remove the old meter, install, and seal the new one.
- After completion, receive a replacement certificate.
To maximize savings, run powerful electric appliances at night: boiler, washing machine, power bank chargers, laptops, household appliances with timers (multicookers, dishwashers). After installing the meter, the supplier will conclude a contract with you, and your personal account will show consumption divided by zones.
From time to time, rumors appear about plans to change electricity prices. However, none of these scenarios are seriously discussed. Currently, there is an understanding that after the war, subsidy support for all Ukrainians under the PSO (Public Service Obligation) resolution will be gradually phased out. The current government resolution on PSO obliges electricity suppliers to sell electricity at a fixed tariff.
