The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has registered a criminal case concerning an apartment in central Kyiv received by prosecutor Oleksandr Hanilov. The housing may have been provided as a bribe for his involvement in cases against NABU detective Ruslan Mahamedrasulov and Member of Parliament Fedor Khrystenko, the Anti-Corruption Action Center (CAC) reported.

The case involves a 110 sq. m. official apartment in the Pecherskyi district of the capital, granted to Hanilov in November last year by order of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. According to the CAC, the apartment was provided just a few days after Hanilov signed an agreement with Khrystenko acknowledging guilt.
NABU will investigate the possible receipt of unlawful benefits by the prosecutor in especially large amounts. The CAC emphasizes that providing housing immediately after questionable procedural decisions appears to be a possible bribe, and using law enforcement to pressure NABU detectives constitutes abuse of power.
According to the CAC, in July 2025, a criminal group was allegedly created in Ukraine with the purpose of attacking and discrediting NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) as retaliation for the “Midas” case, which involved former Vice Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, businessman Timur Mindich, and others. The group may have included former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, former SBU head Vasyl Malyuk, First Deputy Head of the SBU Oleksandr Poklad, and former First Deputy Head of the SBU Main Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases Serhiy Duka.
