U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that Russia allegedly made a series of concessions that could indicate a willingness to end the war against Ukraine. In particular, the Kremlin supposedly abandoned plans to change the government in Kyiv and is ready to provide guarantees for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, reports The Telegraph.

However, Western experts call these signals misleading. They remind that Putin has not abandoned the destruction of Ukrainian statehood, but has merely shifted focus to Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. According to British intelligence, Russian forces would need at least four years to fully occupy these regions.
In Kyiv, it is emphasized that there will be no end to the war without real security guarantees, especially if they are offered by the aggressor himself.
