According to her, the European Commission expects to make the first transfers of funding in the near future.
“Everything related to Ukraine is my responsibility. It is the responsibility of the European Commission. Therefore, I hope that next week we will be able to send the first payments,” Kos said.
She emphasized that these funds will not stop the war, but will allow Ukraine to continue defending not only its own territory, but also the security and European values of Europe. The commissioner also noted that the financing is planned through the end of 2027.
“However, at present, including with the support of donors, we can ensure a sufficient volume of funds not only for Ukraine’s military needs but also for the functioning of the state, as part of the financing will go to the state budget,” she added.
