The United States sells weapons to European countries, which are then sent to Ukraine with a 10% markup. This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Bessent in an interview with Fox News.

According to him, the markup partly covers the costs of military aid. The US plans to recoup the invested funds after the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine through economic partnership with Kyiv.
“We have created this economic partnership which, once the conflict stops, can bring significant benefits to American taxpayers. We will be able to return our investments. If things go well in Ukraine — they will go well for us too,” Bessent explained.
He added that the US is already launching separate investment projects, and President Donald Trump is acting with caution and attention.
