According to Tusk, Poland’s eastern border is currently secure and well-guarded, and strict migration policies have reduced illegal crossings by over 90%. He also highlighted effective crime prevention and counteraction against sabotage activities, particularly from Russia.
The Polish prime minister described the country’s armed forces as the most modern in the EU, providing security guarantees for Poland and Europe as a whole. He also recalled the support for approximately two million Ukrainians who found refuge in Poland after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Tusk further noted that the U.S. is ready to deploy troops to the Russian-Ukrainian border or front line as part of security guarantees for Ukraine following a peace agreement. The prime minister expressed hope that peace could be achieved within the coming weeks and urged Europeans to be energetic, courageous, and follow Poland’s example.
