President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted the statement made by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who claimed that Ukraine was ready to fight Russia for another two to three years. According to BBC Ukraine, the head of state emphasized that his words were not about predicting the duration of the war but rather about planning financial support for Ukraine from its partners.

“This is actually about the frozen assets. When someone says that Ukraine is ready to fight for a few more years, I stressed to all European leaders: we are not going to fight for decades. But you must show that you are capable of supporting Ukraine consistently for a certain period,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President explained that European partners are currently working on a two- to three-year financial assistance program that will ensure stable support for Ukraine even in the event of political changes within the EU.
“The war may end sooner, but the money is still needed — for recovery, for stability. It’s not about someone wanting to fight; it’s about ensuring that Ukraine does not lose its ability to resist,” the head of state concluded.
