Israel warned the United States that it may act independently if Iran crosses a “red line” defined by Jerusalem in the area of ballistic missile development. This was reported by sources within Israeli defense structures.

According to them, the Israeli side informed its American partners of its readiness to carry out strikes without U.S. participation if Iran exceeds the acceptable level of development of its ballistic missile program. At the same time, Israel emphasizes that Tehran has not yet crossed this line, but the situation is being constantly monitored.
Israeli officials told the American side that Iran’s ballistic missile program poses an existential threat to Israel. According to security sources, in recent weeks Israel has, during high-level contacts, informed the United States of its intentions to dismantle Iran’s missile capabilities and production infrastructure.
The military presented operational concepts aimed at weakening Iran’s missile program, in particular through strikes on key production facilities. Also, according to a defense official, plans to strike additional facilities linked to this program were shared with the American side.
In Israel, it is emphasized that the state maintains freedom of action and will not allow Iran to restore strategic weapons systems on a scale that could threaten the country’s existence. One official called the current moment a “historic opportunity” to deliver a serious blow to Iran’s missile infrastructure and neutralize active threats to Israel and neighboring states.
At the same time, some Israeli officials express concern that U.S. President Donald Trump may choose a model of limited strikes similar to recent U.S. operations against the Houthis in Yemen. In their assessment, such an approach may not lead to the destruction of Iran’s key military capabilities.
The IDF also reported that Brigadier General Omer Tishler, the future commander of the Israeli Air Force, is likely to accompany Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his upcoming visit to the United States. He will represent IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, as following the decision of Israeli Defense Minister Katz, there is currently no military attaché in Washington.
