Democratic Representative Yasmin Ansari announced her intention to submit a resolution to impeach U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Geset over his actions during a military operation against Iran.

Ansari plans to introduce the resolution next week, accusing Geset of “repeatedly violating his oath and duty to the Constitution.” She stated that his “reckless actions endanger the lives of American service members” and are grounds for removal from office.
In addition, the congresswoman called for the use of the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump over his “insane statements” about war.
According to Axios, given Republican control of both chambers and the two-thirds Senate vote required for conviction, Ansari’s initiative is unlikely to succeed. Previously, a similar attempt was made by Congressman Shri Thanedar, but it also did not reach a vote.
