Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Gao Jiaokun stated that China is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine and should not bear responsibility for its origin.

“China is neither the party that caused the ‘Ukrainian crisis’ nor a participant in it,” the diplomat said. He added that Beijing, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, maintains an objective stance and promotes negotiations and reconciliation, which has received international recognition.
Gao Jiaokun emphasized that the conflict is caused by regional disputes in Europe and can only be resolved by taking into account the legitimate interests of all parties, through dialogue and negotiations.
China also expressed support for more active EU involvement in the political resolution of the situation.
