“Today, Austria joined the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Accountability is a key element of Austria’s foreign policy. There can be no lasting peace in Ukraine without accountability,” the ministry stated.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed the decision, noting that Austria has become the 20th participant in the agreement.
“Austria’s decision brings the total number of countries willing to participate in the Tribunal to 20 — including 19 Council of Europe member states. Each new participant strengthens the position that justice for the crime of aggression against Ukraine is inevitable,” Sybiha emphasized.
