A well-known Russian lawyer and propagandist Ilya Remeslo sharply criticized the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stated that the war against Ukraine is driven by Putin’s personal complexes and is causing “enormous damage to the Russian economy.”

Remeslo also condemned the suppression of internet and media freedom and called Putin’s 30-year rule “unacceptable.” According to him, signs of collapse are already appearing within the system, and Putin may lose power this year. The lawyer believes that instead of retirement, the dictator should face trial for war crimes.
“If Putin surrounded himself with people who criticize him and are not afraid to tell the truth, who are competent and not just stealing money, he could wage war in Ukraine more effectively… But he is afraid to surround himself with such people and is becoming weaker,” Remeslo wrote.
