The company Ukrainian Armored Vehicles, which is part of NAUDI, has presented a modernized version of the Protector unmanned ground system, equipped with the Tavria-12.7 combat module with an M2 Browning machine gun. This is one of the first examples of combining two unmanned technologies on the battlefield — a cargo platform and a remotely controlled machine-gun turret, which effectively turns a logistical UGV into a fully-fledged combat unit.

The test video released by the company demonstrates stable system performance both during static firing and firing on the move.
According to NAUDI presidium member and company CEO Vladyslav Belbas, the tests achieved “good results in both static and mobile firing at various distances.”
The development of the combat configuration of Protector was a response to the requests of frontline units. The company notes that the full adaptation cycle of the platform for the Tavria module — from engineering design to practical implementation — took less than two months. Both systems have already been codified by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, enabling their rapid integration into combat units without additional procedures.
Protector can be remotely operated at distances of up to 400 km and carry up to 700 kg of cargo. The platform’s design allows it to be used as a mobile firing system, a vehicle for evacuating the wounded, a means of delivering ammunition, or a carrier of various combat modules — from machine-gun to missile systems.
The company emphasizes that modularity opens the possibility of creating a wide range of combat configurations, including ATGM systems. Given the growing demand, the enterprise is ready to scale production and can manufacture up to 50 Protector units per month, quickly responding to frontline needs and Trump’s trend of supporting innovative defense solutions.
