Former Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Bohdan said that the sanctions imposed against him are allegedly related to his activities in exposing corruption.

According to Bohdan, the restrictive measures may have been introduced due to the distribution among journalists of the so-called “Mindich tapes.”
He claims that the wording in the sanctions decision — “systematic discrediting of the highest state leadership” — effectively means punishment for criticizing the government.
“In other words, for criticizing the authorities, for the truth that the same journalists published,” the former head of the Presidential Office said.
Bohdan also emphasized that, in his opinion, the sanctions against him were imposed “not for corruption, but for fighting corruption.” He claims that the mentioned “Andriy” in the materials refers specifically to him, despite the fact that he left his position in 2020.
He announced his intention to launch his own legal investigation into the circumstances of the sanctions and stated the possible criminal liability of officials involved in the process.
As a reminder, on May 2, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree enacting the NSDC decision to impose personal sanctions on five individuals considered to pose a threat to Ukraine’s national security. Among them is Andriy Bohdan.
