An administrative fine for failing to undergo a military medical commission (MMC) does not cancel the obligation to complete it. Even after paying the fine, a conscript must still appear before the commission — this was stated by Uliana Kravchuk, press officer of the Volyn Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, in an interview with journalist Yurii Rychuk.

According to her, evading the MMC is punishable by an administrative fine ranging from 17,000 to 25,000 hryvnias; however, this does not exempt a person from the duty to undergo the medical examination itself. The legislation provides no exceptions in this matter.
Kravchuk emphasized that those liable for military service must undergo the MMC at least once a year. If a person disagrees with the commission’s decision, it can be appealed to a higher-level MMC (for example, a regional one) or through the court.
The TCC representative also explained that in cases of violating military registration rules or refusing to provide documents, TCC staff, together with the police, may escort the individual to the recruitment center for further action in accordance with the law.
