📰 Journalist Alex Raufoglu earlier reported on the upcoming meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

📍 Sources from the White House told The Washington Post that a peace deal may be announced during the leaders’ meeting with Trump on Friday.

🌍 Armenia and Azerbaijan have been in conflict for over 30 years. In 2020 and 2023, Azerbaijan regained control over Nagorno-Karabakh following military operations.

🕊️ In October 2024, ahead of the U.S. presidential election, Trump pledged to “protect persecuted Christians” and end violence, particularly against Armenian Christians, calling for peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

🏆 The Washington Post notes that Trump’s peace initiatives are aimed at ending international conflicts and gaining global recognition.

🌐 In June 2025, Trump celebrated the signing of a peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, which took place in the Oval Office.

🎖️ For his peace efforts, Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by prominent world leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister, and the government of Pakistan.

📅 The Nobel Peace Prize is traditionally awarded in December.
