The United States will consider “alternative options” regarding Iran if diplomatic efforts around its nuclear program fail.

This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio while speaking to journalists in New Delhi, according to Reuters.
According to him, Washington continues to prioritize diplomacy and aims to reach an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
“The US is either counting on reaching a good deal or having to act in another way,” Rubio said.
He also noted that the United States has submitted a specific proposal to Tehran to resume negotiations. The plan envisions the launch of a “real, meaningful, and time-limited” dialogue on Iran’s nuclear program.
At the same time, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said there has been some progress in contacts with the US regarding a possible memorandum of understanding, but emphasized that a final agreement is still far away.
The Iranian side stressed that it is currently focused mainly on negotiations related to ending conflicts and is not actively engaging in nuclear talks.
Tehran also accused US officials of shifting positions, which, according to Iran, is complicating the negotiation process.
