From the morning, continuous prayers for the repose have been held in the church. Clergy together with the faithful are conducting memorial services, uniting in shared prayer and gratitude for their lives, sacrifice, and long-standing service to the Ukrainian cause.
During May 22–23, everyone is welcome to come to the cathedral to pray and pay tribute to Andriy Melnyk and his wife.
The statement also emphasizes that the return of their remains to Ukraine is a restoration of historical memory. Andriy Melnyk did not have the opportunity to return to his homeland during his lifetime, but now his journey concludes on Ukrainian soil.
