The Pentagon has appealed to the White House with a request to approve a submission to the U.S. Congress for allocating more than $200 billion to finance further military operations in Iran.

According to The Washington Post, citing sources among senior officials, this amount significantly exceeds the costs of the current airstrike campaign.
The funds are planned to be directed toward urgently increasing the production of critically important weapons that have been used by American and Israeli forces during strikes on thousands of targets over the past three weeks.
The request is being prepared by U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Stephen Feinberg. He has already developed a number of measures to promptly address the shortage of precision-guided munitions and to boost the U.S. defense-industrial complex.
At the same time, the cost of the war is rapidly increasing: in just the first week of hostilities, expenses exceeded $11 billion. Some representatives of the White House doubt that Congress will support such a large-scale request.
Experts also point to the limited capacity of U.S. industry to quickly ramp up production due to labor shortages and a lack of materials.
