The High Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for former Deputy Head of the Office of the President Rostyslav Shurma and his brother Oleh Shurma.

The relevant motion was submitted by detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
The court’s decision provides for arrest after the suspects are detained and brought to the pre-trial investigation body.
Rostyslav Shurma himself stated that he considers the decision unlawful and politically motivated. According to him, this step may be aimed at placing him on an international wanted list and initiating an extradition procedure.
He also reported that he is currently in Germany together with his brother and is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
