🛡️ According to Yuriy Ignat, head of communications for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down only 3 out of 8 missiles of this type. He explained that the missiles flew at extremely low altitudes, often along rivers and considering the terrain, which complicated their detection.
📍 The missile launches were carried out from the territory of russia’s Kursk region, significantly reducing reaction time.
⚠️ Ignat emphasized that all missiles are dangerous, but Iskander-K combined with its special flight path is particularly difficult to intercept.
🏠 One of the missiles that was not shot down hit a residential building in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, six people died as a result of the strike, and two more died in other districts of the capital. The total number of casualties in Kyiv is eight.
🚒 Rescue and recovery operations are ongoing.
