Russia is rapidly losing ground in the space sector due to sanctions, international isolation, and the reallocation of resources to military needs, reports the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.

According to the Center, Russia is no longer able to compete with global leaders — the United States and China. Launches for foreign clients have almost stopped, access to Western technologies is blocked, which has effectively paralyzed the development of new projects and pushed Russia out of the space services market.
One of the industry’s largest players, the “Energia” corporation, has fallen into a critical financial state: its head, Igor Maltsev, admitted that the enterprise is drowning in debt and losing personnel. The private holding SR Space, which planned to “revolutionize” the light launch vehicle and satellite network segment, has also been declared bankrupt.
Experts emphasize that Moscow is redirecting resources from civilian space technologies to the military sector, causing the industry to degrade and finally shattering the myth of a “great space power.”
