American Vice President J.D. Vance has arrived in Budapest, where he will meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and participate in his campaign rally ahead of the parliamentary elections on April 12, Reuters and 24hu report.

Vance and his wife were welcomed by Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who called the visit a signal of the beginning of a “golden age.” Vance became the first U.S. vice president to visit Hungary.
According to the Hungarian government, Vance will stay in the country for two days, during which he will hold talks with Orbán and take part in a campaign event.
The American vice president noted that he will discuss a wide range of issues with the prime minister, including U.S.-Hungary relations, relations with Europe, and the situation in Ukraine.
