According to Nausėda, the weak point of EU sanctions lies in secondary effects — countries that help bypass restrictions. He emphasized that the implementation of secondary sanctions would be a real “bullseye” for increasing their effectiveness.
The Lithuanian leader noted that the presentation of the 19th sanctions package against Russia was temporarily postponed to make it as effective as possible and align it with U.S. proposals.
Trump, according to Nausėda, rightly pointed out the need to include secondary sanctions to strengthen pressure on Moscow.
