More than half of registered voters in the U.S. believe the country should not have used military force against Iran, according to an NBC News survey.

According to the study, 52% of respondents opposed military action, while 41% supported the decision to use force. Another 7% of respondents said they had no clear position on the issue.

The survey also showed that 54% of voters disapprove of U.S. President Donald Trump’s actions in the context of the conflict with Iran. At the same time, 41% of respondents support the President’s stance, and 5% were unable to express a definite opinion.

Public opinion is largely divided along party lines. Among Democratic supporters, 89% oppose strikes on Iran. Among independent voters, 58% share this position.

In contrast, a majority of Republicans support military action: 77% of respondents in this group approve of the strikes, while 15% are against them.

The survey results also show differences in opinion depending on age. About two-thirds of voters under 35 do not support military strikes. Among citizens aged 35 to 49, 53% are against. Meanwhile, among Americans aged 50 to 64, the majority — 52% — support the use of force.
