U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has become the leading favorite of the conservative wing of the Republican Party for the next presidential nomination. According to the results of the traditional CPAC conference poll in Texas, 53% of participants voted for him. His closest competitor, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, came in second with 35%.

No other potential candidate received more than 2% support. While the results of such polls do not guarantee an official nomination, they reflect the sentiments of the MAGA (“Make America Great Again”) movement.

Since Donald Trump is legally barred from running for a third term in 2028, the fight for his place has already begun. Vance supporters highlight his “sincerity and commitment to Christian values.” One conference attendee noted: “I wasn’t sure about him at first, as if he were inexperienced, but I’ve seen everything he’s done,” emphasizing the vice president’s willingness to publicly express his faith.

At the same time, Marco Rubio is showing rapid growth in popularity. While last year his support was only 3%, he has now become a key figure due to his active foreign policy on Iran and Venezuela. Delegates note his strength and public speaking skills, comparing Rubio’s approach to Donald Trump’s: “He is strong. He speaks to the point. He works like Trump: forward, forward, forward, forward.”

Many attendees expressed a desire to see Vance and Rubio on the same team in the upcoming elections. Despite the competition, both politicians are now seen by the party’s core as the most promising leaders capable of continuing the current administration’s course.
