Iran is ready to agree to arrangements with the United States to end the war in the Middle East only on the condition of reaching a fair and comprehensive agreement. This was stated on May 6 by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a visit to Beijing after a meeting with China’s top diplomat Wang Yi.

“We will do everything possible to protect our legitimate rights and interests in the negotiations. We agree only to a fair and comprehensive agreement,” the head of Iran’s Foreign Ministry emphasized.
At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump заявил about “significant progress” in the negotiations between the parties, Reuters reports.
Araghchi did not give a direct response to Washington’s proposal regarding a possible suspension of the operation to escort vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, which was considered one of the steps toward reaching a compromise.
The negotiations are ongoing amid a tense situation in the region and attempts by the parties to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
