According to him, in the event of Russian ships being seized, Moscow is ready to take corresponding measures against EU vessels, calling for a “tough response” to the United Kingdom, France, and the Baltic countries.
Patrushev emphasized the need for the constant deployment of significant forces in key maritime areas, including those far from Russian territory, to deter the actions of Western countries, which he called “gunboat diplomacy.”
He also stated that NATO allegedly plans to blockade Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave in the Baltic Sea and stressed that any attempt at a naval blockade is illegal under international law. Patrushev added that if peaceful settlement fails, the blockade will be broken and eliminated by the Russian Navy.
He added that Russia’s updated shipbuilding program until 2050 will soon be submitted for approval.
