Ukraine has been able to significantly change the situation on the front thanks to the large-scale development of drone production and their systematic use. Now, as Financial Times notes, Kyiv is not only holding back Russian forces but also extending combat operations deeper into Russian territory.

One of the key players in drone manufacturing is the Ukrainian military technology company Fire Point, which, according to the publication, produces around 300 medium- and long-range drones per day. The cost of one unit is estimated at approximately €50,000.
Co-founder of the company Denys Shtilerman said that Ukrainian drones regularly strike targets deep in Russian territory, including military infrastructure.
The article also describes a “hunting” tactic against aviation, where drones are used as carriers to deliver smaller strike drones to the target area, followed by attacks on Russian aircraft at airfields.
According to Financial Times, the nature of the war has changed significantly: while Russia previously had an advantage on the battlefield and was able to actively attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the initiative is now gradually shifting.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the dynamics of combat operations have recently shifted in Ukraine’s favor, particularly due to holding positions and inflicting greater damage on the enemy.
Head of Ukraine’s mission to NATO Olena Getmanchuk also noted that Ukraine is becoming less dependent on external aid and is achieving one of its strongest positions throughout the war.
At the same time, analysts emphasize that both sides are facing manpower shortages, and the war is increasingly turning into a technological confrontation.
It is also noted that Ukraine is expanding its strike capabilities — from attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure to strikes on logistics and rear-area facilities that support the army.
New Ukrainian and international drone developments are also mentioned, enabling strikes on previously unreachable targets, including within Russia and in occupied Crimea.
