According to the minister, the incident occurred at night involving several types of drones. Although the responsible parties have not yet been identified, Poulsen is convinced that the event was not accidental.
“This does not seem like a coincidence. Everything points to a systematic approach and the actions of a professional actor,” he emphasized. The minister added that Danish intelligence is closely monitoring the situation and that the country must be prepared for similar incidents in the future, considering events in other European nations.
Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard supported his colleague’s assessment, calling the nighttime incident part of a broader wave of “hybrid threats” in Europe. According to him, the purpose of such attacks is psychological pressure and creating division, not just damaging infrastructure.
Chief of Denmark’s Defense Command, Michael Gildgaard, explained why the drones were not shot down: decisions are made after assessing risks to civilians.
Danish authorities continue to investigate the incident while strengthening security measures and coordination with European partners.
