He emphasized that the nuclear arsenals of the U.S. and China are at “completely different levels,” and strategic security conditions differ significantly. Therefore, Washington’s demand for Beijing to join such talks is considered “unrealistic.”
The Foreign Ministry stressed that China adheres to a no-first-use nuclear policy, maintains its capabilities at a “minimally necessary level,” and refrains from participating in the arms race.
“China’s nuclear potential and nuclear policy make an important contribution to world peace,” the ministry stated.
